Depuis 2007, le port de pêche de Lorient-Keroman est la propriété de la Région Bretagne, qui en a confié la gestion à la SEM Lorient Keroman, dont Lorient Agglomération est l’actionnaire majoritaire.
La Région Bretagne et Lorient Agglomération sont réunis au sein du Syndicat Mixte du Port de pêche de Keroman, présidé par Mme Gaël Le Saout, conseillère régionale. Le Syndicat Mixte est le maître d’ouvrage des investissements nécessaires à la modernisation du port et au développement de la filière maritime.
